The State of Streaming Spring 2023

Sponsored By: Tulix

2023 appears to be the year we’ve “crossed the chasm” between the distinctions of streaming media industry content creators and content distributors. While there are still about one-quarter of respondents who exclusively create or distribute content, the group of respondents who do both now sits at 71% overall, a significant increase from the 46% in our initial Spring 2020 survey. Download the State of Streaming Spring 2023 research report to gain insights into the following and more:

  • Eroding monthly viewership and upper-end annual revenue numbers
  • Rising lower-end viewership numbers, including concurrent viewership of live events
  • Ad-only revenues dropping as subscription-type (no ad) revenues remaining constant
  • House of worship and news streaming verticals falling to pre-pandemic levels while education grows
  • FAST growth decelerating
  • Demand for lower latency growing in conjunction with increasing use of regional data centers and edge compute
